Emily Rae is a graduate of The New School’s MFA in Creative Writing Program. She has attended the 2021 Tin House YA Workshop, the 2021 Yale Writers’ Workshop, and also holds a BA in English Literature from Manhattanville College.

Her work has been nominated for Best Small Fictions, and is forthcoming or featured in Newfound, Peatsmoke Journal, Bear Creek Gazette, Tiny Molecules, Shirley, and Typehouse Literary Magazine.

She is currently querying a young adult speculative novel about generational trauma and haunted figurines. Since finishing that book, she’s written an novella about a sunflower apocalypse (you can read excerpts in Okay Donkey and, soon, The Quiet Ones), a gothic love story, a middle grade horror, and whimsical picture books. She has no idea what her brand is anymore.

When she’s not writing, Emily works in marketing in the architecture/construction industry and creates art.
